HO-SAY, HO-SAY and what a day for the Cleveland Cavaliers

HO-SAY, HO-SAY and what a day for the Cleveland Cavaliers CLEVELAND, Ohio - There is a video of John Adams singing from his retirement home to entertain his audience.

HO-SAY, HO-SAY and what a day for the Cleveland Cavaliers

There's security guard Peter Knab, who doesn't tolerate cerebral palsy. He made the first pitch from his wheelchair to a roar.

There is Jose Ramirez. Current Count: "HO-SAY, HO-SAY...HO-SAY, HO-SAY!"

Don't you just love this song as Ramirez runs around the bases after hitting a home run, like he did on Friday afternoon's sixth? HO-SAY, HO-SAY...

Comment: Cleveland 2, Tampa Bay 1. The Rangers have a 1-0 lead in a best-of-three series!

PERIOD OF DISCLOSURE OF THE LAW OF

What a blast of sunshine on a dark Friday afternoon in October at Progress Field.

Jose Ramirez snaps 2-run homer streak. Shane Bieber allowed just one run in 7 2/3 innings.

How do you say - Cy Young? It's the award Bieber won in 2020 or Shane Bieber who was on the slopes on Friday. Bieber shines, as he shines three-and-a-half. Bieber worked in the corner.

He tempts and tempts the Tampa crowd to drive his basketball into the dirt. He was in control, as he thought this moment all along - and was doing his best.

A smooth, 6-foot-3 right-hander with a smooth, long stride that reminds some of a young Jim Palmer. He gave Cleveland exactly what they needed in the opener. It should be an interesting playoff series. It's time for boxing to start slowly and confidently. It's Bieber.

HO-SAY, HO-SAY and what a day for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Without saying a word, his performance screamed, "Boys, give me a few small jobs and you'll be fine."

A few came with two, as in Ramirez's two-run homer -- a 389-footer to right field. As the ball flew over the wall, a celebration broke out among the 30,741 Progressive Field fans.

The fans were chanting HO-SAY, HO-SAY. They stood up. They were waving red towels. They were dancing on the edge of their seats, and more than a few people were swaying in the street.

The stand is a wave of red and white - love for HO-SAY, HO-SAY.

Remember AMED & Class

Who is on first base when the baseball exclamation point is scored? He is Amed Rosario, the most popular player and best friend of Ramirez.

If HO-SAY, HO-SAY is the heart of this group, Rosario is the soul. He was the forgotten man in Francisco Lindor and the Mets.

All he did was run, play every day, and support Ramirez by looking for guards to be the toughest team in baseball. Then there's Cleveland's secret weapon: the bull.

Emmanuel Clase is baseball's version of the nuclear option, a powerful right-hander who explodes opponents' dreams early on. Defense manager Terry Francona quietly decided before the series that he would use his star for more than one inning if necessary - something he has avoided all season.

After Bieber allowed two hits in eight innings, Jose Siri came to the plate. He hit Bieber first in the game. Francona wouldn't let it go for three. Clase boldly came out of the bullpen. It prompted Siri to come up. He came back for the ninth.
